How much do you pay for insurance and what are your circumstances (type of cover, NCB etc.)

I've renewed the policy on the NSR, but will be selling it soon. They told me I can swap it over to the new bike and I was wondering how much more I might have to pay (I need to budget these things you see).

Much appreciated Thumbs Up

sv650s are dirt cheap to insure i think my renewal came in at £250 TFT theough when i first got it i payed about £500 having 0 no claims age 24, i think the industry dropped their rating of them a couple of points to make it cheaper.

the sv is a big bike and though it it "only" has 70bhp the first thing i thought when riding it after my 60bhp 400cc bandit was "fuck this is fast" the jump from a 400cc to the sv feels more that the jump from the sv to a aprillia tono.

the power is just there and its not like you need to wind the throttle to get at it, you can take off in 3rd gear, to give you some idea how good an engine the sv650 has a ducati 750ss produces the same bhp with an extra 100cc's

Hi. I have an er5 in a similar insurance group as the nsr's. When I asked how much to change to an sv650s, it would be a simple administration charge of £20. Thats with CIA.

Think my insurance was about £300 - age 34, fully comp, 4 years NCB, postcode RG1.
I know they fall pretty low in insurance categories though.

Have fun if you get one - I've had 2 in 6 years and love them!

i have a faired one, they are geared a little higher then the unfaired one so have a higher top speed but blow about a little more in the wind a little, at least the curvey ones do. i would guess you are going to restrict it which makes it a good choice because sv's produce a lot of torque and even limited to 33bhp still has a lot of go

I've checked online and can get quotes for around the same as I'm paying for the NSR. Cheers.

Hey, I've had one for nearly a year, k2 faired version. Love it to death.

Insurance, TPFT?780 with 2NCB. aged 19, no claims or convictions, NG34 postcode So quite safe area (village), with cover to ride other peoples bike as well. Bit more than i was expecting to pay, think i could of got it for less if i had a little more time.

Great bikes, go get it now!
