u shouldnt need to reaise it... just increase the compression... this is usually done by turning a screw on the damper ... like on this

he would turn the knob..
be warned that stiffening this up will also affect how the bike handles round corners etc ____________________ currently riding:

On the 600 bandit the rear is preload only (except x '2000' models onwards) I believe. You can raise this by adjusting which notch the spring sits in at the top of the rear shock.
