I recently got my '02 BlackBird and have since fallen in love Wink

I'm now looking at getting a '05 (which I have to get "grey" as Honda SA will not supply me with one)

OR I have to wait for the next gen... Problem is: What is the next gen?

MCN says the following:
https://www.motorcyclenews.com/nav?page=motorcyclenews.articles.articleCategory.article&resourceId=1166298&articleCategory=NEWS_NEW-BIKES

But is this true... Is this definate? How good/reliable is VTEC? (Current CBR1100XX's go for upwards of 100,000 miles according to all tales with very, very FEW problems.)

Anyone got any news on this? Thing is:

1. Keep what I've got till the new 'Bird has been out for about 1-1.5 years and then upgrade.
2. Keep what I've got.
3. Get the grey '05 and trade that later for the "real" thing...

sounds like typical MCN futurama nonsense to me...

Vetec has been tried and tested in the VFR, but servicing costs are silly..

I'd stick with what you have, the 05 'bird isn't going to be a HUGE departure from what it is now, perhaps some cosmetic changes and tweaks.. is it really going to be SO much a better bike that it's worth the extra wedge?

just my tuppence worth...

Seem to recall someone on IXXRA saying the same thing Very Happy
and getting the same advice.
WFT do you want to change it for????. It's a Bird, you can't improve on perfection. If you got a good one keep it.

There has been talk over the last 2 years of a new Blackbird but only artist impressions appear in the public view.
I'll not be buying a V-Tech BBird Neutral
