Hi guys

Im in the middle of finding full time employment, when i succeed i will be taking m full license and getting something with a little more power then the nsr, i dont want to sell the little bastard plus wouldnt get that much anyway. I was considering making it racing worthy and would appreciate advice on how to acheive this.
This is a 2001 r1 spec nsr125

Im talking everything including paint job Smile

If it could be safely done to an nsr it would be done alot.
From what i understand theres alot that can be done to it to make it faster but you can't make a road bike into a race bike.
Needless to say , no matter what you do , it will affect the lifetime of what is already a short lived bike.

I'd say just put some custom fairing on it and keep it for going mental when you want a bit of 2 stroke zing.

Nice idea with the lights, tiny indicators are already fitted, trying to get some wing mirrors customised with the indicators built into them (anyone who has seen a bike with these will understand)

tempted to order some nsr94 fairings and fit them

I don't know if it's really worth significantly souping up a NSR... there's the (Honda) RS for racing. As far as going fast you'd probably have to get a big bore kit, I'm still considering trying to put a 250mx engine in mine!

Hi

The Gilera CX125 used small mirrors with the indicators built in. Also the same units were used on the Bimota Supermono. I can measure them up to check if you want. You should be able to get a pair from Bob Wright (gilera spares bod in Weston Super Mare)

All the best

Hi

They have 2 mounting bolts, just under 110mm apart. The rear one is a 10mm thread and hinges backwards and forwards. The Front one is a 6mm thread and is loosely mounted in rubber. The rear mount goes out 30mm from the fairing before becoming the mirror pod (front about 75mm), and the mirror pod is about 135mm "long", max 110mm front to back and 82mm deep. The indicator is built into the front of the mirror.

I have tried to save a picture as follows

https://www.alfa-pages.co.uk/pictures/113-1384_img.jpg

Hope that comes out OK!

All the best

I can see at least 5 names that regularly post that were here before kickstart, only by a matter of days but still before.

It is wierd to think that this place has been around since I was 12, I was only just starting secondary school Laughing

There aren't many other people who like you digging up old threads...

Every single one got flamed or thread bombed in some way, why should you be different? You aren't contributing anything to the forum by posting it, so why do it? I'll tell you why... for the attention!

i dont know what your problem is with me on here, but its been going on for a while, and i have no idea why, if you dont like what i say, ignore it, shimpleshhh.

It might be because you're the same as 90% of all of the 16-17 year olds on here. You think you know it all, but actually you are totally clueless. Not just about bikes, but about life.

Take some advice, think before posting, sit back relax and absorb some of the more sage wisdom that appears here. I know you won't listen to me, but eventually you'll realise. Probably some time between now and the time you're 30.
