Hi I have finally got my front forks sorted and then I read on ebay where they sell these crap bikes that the lubrication is SAE10/w30 I have put 10w40 in mine and have done 300 miles without any problems should I change it to 10w30 or will it be ok

Cheer's

It wouldn't bother me, close enough for such a simple motor in my oppinion.

Don't know if I have even seen 10w/30 oil for sale.

the manual for my GSXR1100, for the temp range of the UK basically says i can use and multigrade between 0-30 and 20-50......Actually 90% of my bikes manuals have said that.

Hongdou motor, 10W40 all the way. The engine's been bulletproof. I should probably get around to checking the valve clearances at some point, but they don't really sound too clicky. The 'Operation Instruction' gives a table specifying a reasonably large range of oils you can use anyway. 10W40 is fine.

I know its a different engine but my GS125 used to vibrate your fillings out at 6.5-7K rpm but over that it was fine and below that fine. Just the character of the engine, yours may be the same. Id take it easy if your engine hasnt done many miles though.

Once it is run in, then you can thrash it. 500 miles should be plenty to run it in. It will feel rough in the mid range, so you're compelled to run it at above 8k rpm so that it doesn't feel as vibey. Wink
