Triumph Daytona 650

Anyone own one of these and if so how do you rate it against the leading Jap bikes? Particularly interested if you feel it is a bike that you can live and ride with day to day like you can with a CBR for example. Question

I love the look of these bikes Thumbs Up

but wonder if its gonna be worth the extra cash it would cost me. cheers.

I've got a Daytona 600, and it's got the best handling for my riding style, and is a very very forgiving bikes. Lots of bike magazines rate it for handling too. Downside, lack of aftermarket parts for it (slowly changing, alot thanks to www.daytona600.org asking companies) and horsepower. If you want to go into a pub bragging you've got 110bhp at the backwheel, you need to find an optamistic dyno and alot of engine work. Question is, are you that good a rider that you need the extra ponies? 99% can happily say no.

Get down to your local Triumph dealer and book a test ride!! £10 for 2 hours on your own.

what do you have to have for a test ride??

will just a full license do?? or do you need fully comp insurance on your bike as well?

Each bike shop will have different policies. My local one, you have to be 25 or over to ride the bike. The one I used up north said 25 or over for a test ride with their insurance, or provide your own insurance.

Very few will let 17,18,19 year olds loose on a brand new machine. Don't understand why. Laughing

Just a thought, and Im going to get shot down for this, but as beautiful as that triumph is, does it not 'borrow' a lot of styling from the CBR RR?

I do like it though, and if we had a Triumph dealer in town Id give the guy 30 quid and say I'll see you at tea time!

Although Im guessing that if you went on to buy the bike you would get your tenner back!
