I'd rather ride a bike than take a flight, I hate flying, had the worst flight ever back home from Corfu last year...
At least on a bike, your in control, don't like trains either for that matter! ____________________ Old bikes >>> https://www.bikepics.com/members/cc123/ |

I make it slightly more than that (pedant post warning!!)
According to the Transport 2000 website, in Britain in 2002 there were 111 deaths per billion kilometres travelled on two-wheeled motor vehicles.
https://www.transport2000.org.uk/factsandfigures/Facts.asp
That's 1 billion/111 = one death for every 9 million kms (or one death for every 5.6 million miles)
It would take you 766 years to drive 5.6 million miles if you drive 20 miles a day.
But beware statistics! It's all a bit meaningless, because if you ride like a maniac high on the joy of speed I would imagine your chance of having a fatal accident skyrockets pretty fast And of course, an average of 766 years might mean that one guy survives 1400 years and the other lasts two weeks!!
-edit- This is quite interesting - https://www.bikeclaim.net/RTA%20Statistics.htm
Shows that you're (slightly) more likely to die walking 11 miles than motorbiking 5 miles! (Although of course, 11 mile walk takes all day, whereas 5 miles on bike takes, erm, less time) ____________________ Current: Yamaha Diversion XJ900
