Hi everybody,

1st of all, sorry for my English if I make some mistakes Embarassed

I have a NSR 125 R that has some problems to start.
Here is how I proceed:

1) I switch on the "Fuel Enrichening System" (we call it "starter" in France... Wink ),
2) After around 6-8 minutes, the "Starter" is always on, I turn the key to "on", I hear a little "bzz" for 1 second, I see green "neutral" light and the yellow "side stand" light...
3) on the "Engine Stop" command: the "Run" is pressed down (is it ok?),
4) and finally I press the "Start" button and I accelerate a little: it starts... but engine doesn't!
5) I turn the key off, then on, then I restart... engine does not start
6) I retry, I retry, I retry...
7) when I start and I accelerate at 100%, it seems that engine is about to start... but nothing happens...
8) so I open the Air box under the fuel tank, I remove the air element and the holder, and I pulverize some "Start Pilote": now I press "Start" and the engine runs immediately!
9) I accelerate a little from time to time, then I switch the Fuel Enrichening System to off... it's OK.
Now the bike is ok, I have no problem to use it...

Could you please help me to know where the probem comes from?
Air element to clean? Oil? Fuel that does not comes to engine? Praying

And other question, in the meantime: must I always open the air box to pulverize "Start Pilote"? Is there another "hole" to use it without usine any screwdriver?

Thanks a lot for your help! Very Happy

Have you tried starting it without "Start Pilote" with the air filter off? It may be that the air filter is blocked. It's worth changing the spark plug too as they aren't that expensive and they can make all the difference. Thumbs Up

Alains, you sure do love changing spark plugs. Razz

no sir , but since more than a year i use the "irridium" plugs on mine and i can insure you those are like day & night . i change change them once a year , only i put BR10EIX from April to october and BR9EIX the other time . i can insure that you will find your idle more stabilized and the bike softer to get high revs . the BR9ECS are rubbish .
