In your pic, its seems as though the rubber from the Kneeslider is now on the tarmac!! You can see lines going round, lol
And in The Doctor's pic I bet that Right Indicator was on a long long time!

I think toe down is more fun. I don't bother sticking my knee out, I just lean over until my toes hit the deck, either that or my pegs. The pegs are low on my bike though, it's getting tedious. ____________________ Current bike: VTR1000F Firestorm. Yeah you should be able to, a freind of mine used to do it on his RS .
The key is to really hang off and push your leg to the back of the bike, thats the way i did it anyway.
Iv got about half a mil of chicken stripe so if you have got the same then you no that its just a matter of hanging off.

Getting your knee down on the NSR is no problem, just lean it over and poke your knee out. The NSR will do it, you just have to have faith! ____________________ Current bike: VTR1000F Firestorm. Previous: Firestorm (written off) - XJ600 Divvy - NSR125 - DT125 and a load of offroaders. |

congratulations
you should see some people's desperate knee-downs on sites like www.bikepics.com, the bikes are pretty much vertical and they're hanging of like monkeys! looks so lame....
I've never managed it but then I don't have leather trousers or sliders, I can get my toe down easily enough but just the way I ride I don't hang off to such an extreme angle.... I prefer to lean just a bit and pull the bike over more. ____________________ "he who makes a beast of himself gets rid of the pain of being a man"- Dr. Johnson |

Yeah, I know the real purpose of getting your knee down, etc, and I guess that maybe I'm a bit jealous that my tank isn't secured well enough to hold my outside knee to be able to do it. But around roundabouts it just seems so easy, especially when I'm caning my bike around corners with the thing drifting and bucking and reaching some impressive lean angles and I've never bothered trying to GMKD. I think it's just bitterness, because I fully know you need to start somewhere and lower speeds and lesser angles are obviously the best place to start. But it just bugs me that getting your knee down seems to be such an important milestone of riding when it isn't necessarily a good indicator of true riding skill.
I know I sound overly negative, but I'm afraid I'm just in that mood lately . |
