Try the DAS bike for size, most schools will let you have an assessment leeeon either free or very cheaply.
If both you & the instructor are happy with you on the DAS bike, do DAS. Otherwise go for the restriction.

I did the A2, simply because I thought that a) it would be cheaper, and b) I could do as much practising as I wanted on my own bike in my own time.
4 months later I am still happy with a restricted bike (it might have cost more to buy with a restrictor, but you get that back when you sell it), but bear in mind I don't do a lot of distance - maybe 200 miles a week so don't feel like I need any extra power. If you ride a lot you might get sick of the lack of poke at times.
There's nothing stopping you from doing your A2 and then if you are sick of it, sitting the accelerated access test (apart from possible failure and ridicule ) It should be even easier by then as you will have a feeling for a bigger bike and have improved your riding skills. |

You should be OK with a GS500 then. I am 5", and I couldn't ride the ER5 but the GS500 was OK for height. If you can handle the weight you'll be fine. ____________________ Sod falling in love, I wanna fall in chocolate. |
