I want to put together a dummies guide to restriction for the forum, cos it's always the same boring questions being asked. So here's a request for content - if you feel like writing a paragraph about anything useful to do with restriction, slap it in here.
Looking for things like:
- Useful links
- Explanations of how bikes are restricted
- Dos and donts
- Which insurance companies will ask for certificates
- Bikes that are 33bhp as standard
- Alternatives to the commercially available restrictor kits
- User experiences - do some bikes handle it better than others
- Etc.
Please make sure you're dealing in FACT and not 'I heard this so it must be true' - hopefully I can put together a reasonably comprehensive guide from all your stuff and it'll help out a few newbies.

I made up a complete DIY manual with picture by picture guide to restrict/ derestrict the er5. You can steal some pictures out of it, if you so desire. Even have a video of the bike performing 0-60 without it in, just to show some folk. Yes - had spare time.
Let me know and I'll pm it to you sometime.
You might want to look at specific bikes, well, ones with varying ways of restriction. rs125/nsr125 is a must though!
Information I can give is that CIA insurance ask for proof of restriction, but it does not have to be official. However, you'll hit a brick wall here, as some people were asked by CIA insurance for proof, some weren't. Not exactly helpful |

2 Bikes that are definately 33bhp as standard (other than 125cc's) are:
Suzuki Goose 350, and kawasaki z250 (old bike!)
and i believe (maybe someone could confirm?) the honda bros 400 is also under the 33bhp limit.
good isea btw!
