Sad
just had the NSR serviced which has left a huge hole in my pocket

needed new pads front and rear new sprocket and chain set
the lass behind the counted said 'Go for a DID chain they are 56 quid but are way better than the Honda one' so i agree and pay for the chain and another 60 quid on the sprockets from honda

i take the bike in for a service and find honda screwed up and sent the wrong sprocket and then the lass behind the counter ordered a honda chain instead of a DID one and i gota pay the extra cash for the right sprocket plus labour to have it fitted
looks like my total bill for a simple service is gona be 210 squid Sad

How many miles had your NSR done? And what year is it?

Unlucky. I've got to fork out a bit before I get my new bike Sad
A service, new pads etc. Gonna cost about £180 to get it totally sorted.
Should be worth it though

Hi

Just to really depress you, M&P would want about £40 for a chain (EK) and sprocket kit for the NSR. They are easy to fit yourself (normally the biggest problem is the front sprockket, and they are a doddle on Hondas)

All the best

Keith

Not being funny but would you really notice the difference between an OE chain and a DID one?

And that price for a 7.5K service Shocked sounds a bit OTT to me...do you really use the back brake that much? Sounds like another argument for home servicing to me...

Well, I just paid £112 for my 2500 mile service. Nothing too major. I will if I come to need to do it, do chains and the like myself. I'll do the brake pads next time myself as well

EEEK Shocked

Sounds a bit steep! Jut changed the brake pads on the CBR, £14 for the rear pads, and it was pretty easy (except a bolt snapping in my can when I decided it would be easier to take it off to work).

Hi

The rear pads in the NSR (and the RS Aprilia, and the Mito, and.....) are fairly small, without that much wear on them. They are fairly easy to change.

As the the chains, DID is very high quality, as are a few other makes. At best Honda are selling DID chains packaged as their own. The Honda sprockets may well be better than the cheaper pattern ones, but then the cheap pattern ones have just lasted 19000 miles on my Bandit 1200

All the best

Keith

Well the pads aint been changed since new......front was 1mm of meat left Shocked while my rear had around 2 Shocked
brake meat mostly been used in corners and stoppie (attempts) n cos the bike carries alot of weight as i find myself carrying passengers on a very regular basis....same for the chain
i lubed the chain every 100-150 miles and it was right at the end of the bracket and going slack every 300 miles or less
both sprockets were in ok nick but i was adviced to change them
as for the honda chain i aint too fussed....jsut annoyed that they fucked up the order Evil or Very Mad but i guess it saves a few pennies
