my experiancing of decokeing is a little brutal, works though
take head off and basically get wire brush on drill and polish it all off
just dont score the head or anything!
I'm sure there'll be a better way of doing it though so wait around for some better advice before grabbing the drill and wire attachment ____________________ The BCF's very own Party boy! Though he's getting old and feeling it!

Hi
Yes, clean the cylinder head and power valve up. It probabl should have been done as part of the service though.
THe problem is that as carbon builds up it makes detonation more likely which may result in a holed piston. The power valve just starts to stick which is a pain
Both can be cleaned up. Whip the head off and have a look. I tend to carefully use a knife blade to crack off the worst of the carbon build up, and then use a cloth and autosol to polish it up (which is probably pointless but it looks nice for about 10 seconds and I never claimed to be the fastest person working on a bike). Same for the valve
