Dont understand how you can get insured on that phoe. Many insurers won't touch blades unless the owner is 32+ and the rest can charge what they like Confused

Things have changed mate...quite a few insurers/brokers have jumped on the premium bandwagon, where they'll insure anyone on anything...although they get to choose the level of cover (i.e. no chance of FC for a 17-yo on an R1), and of course, the premium.

As tin says, they will in general insure anyone assuming you are willing to pay for it, which can be through your teeth Sad

Bear in mind that 17yr old would be on 33bhp on that R1 Rolling Eyes

your insurance does sound quite a bit luke :S

for 180 on top of that i have been quoted or a zx6r @ 17 \o/

but i wouldnt go with tpo on a nice bike i dont think, cos the nicer the bike, the more pikeys like it Evil or Very Mad

and restrictors? wot are they for (other than removing)

is that a db screen or just a coloured one?

I've never in my life known anyone who had their bike catch fire (xcept if it was torched by joyriders). So fire cover is useless. Theft cover is also pointless on a 2grand bike when it costs £1400 a year. If I had theft cover and got it stolen and claimed i'd lose so much anyway i'd be better off not claiming, so therfore may aswell have TPO. Your bike has just as much chance of getting nicked TPO as it does TPFT, it's how you secure it that dictates how likely it is.

and i thought i'd already explained this, it seems quite clear and logical to me.

Holds hand up in shame, and it was my fault. Bike wouldnt turn over at all, nor would bump start after being parked out in peeing rain for a few days. I took the spark plug out and spun it on the starter to get the "water" out. It wasnt water, it was petrol which had leaked in through the carb. The petrol got pumped out, covered the engine and ignited from the spark plug

Got it put out without too much damage

One of the many occasions the Gilera has hated me

All the best

Keith

Laughing oh well, if you all go and read your policies tonight, you'll notice that none of them will cover your bike against terrorist attacks, so we might all be screwed soon Wink
