Had mine 2 months and dropped it last night for the first time, its not bad but I didn't expect any damage at all and got some. Crying or Very sad
I keep my bike at work inside the building and have to manover it up 2 steps. Going home I put my modified bread basket (ramp) on the step and began rolling the bike down but the side stand wasn't fully up and got caught in the criss cross pattern in the basket so I lean it over to put the stand up (which means I have to let go of the front break) and it rolls back 1ft and goes down. I keep hold of the bike and pull it straight back up and thought I'd got away with it as it didn't touch the floor but as I looked at the right hand side there are a couple of scuff marks on the top faring in line with the bars and a scratch on the screen and an inch long scratch on a sticker (must have hit the side of the building as it went down). I have sprayed the faring with clear laquor and the marks are pratically gone but the screen I have no idea how to treat any ideas + New sticker I suppose its a big one 1ft square so I dont fancy removing it so I'll prob just live with it

I think everyone has dropped their bike (or at least one of their bikes) at some point in their 'career'.

I remember i dropped my NSR when wheeling it out of the garage... through the double doors and i lost balance, it fell against the shed door and stayed upright so i thought it was all good... then noticed there was a rather large dent in the side of the tank Sad that was my pride and joy that bike Crying or Very sad

Then the GS500 i have dropped once or twice, i was on the way back from a ride with a mate, we stopped off to get him a leaflet from the local test center for his CBT, as i was walking it backwards the front wheel just slipped from underneath me on the gravel, and down it went, i tried to save it but after it gets to a certain point you just have to let it go. He just stood there as i lifted it up on my own, completely shattered Sad

Dropped my zing 125 - reversing too quickly. Nae damage.

Dropped my er5 , caught off balance. Scuffed bar end.

Dropped my er5, left disk lock on - dented car (ssh), broken speedo cable.

Dropped hornet, taking it off paddock stand - dented handlebars, snapped brake lever, dented gear lever.

And they talk about honda build quality...Rolling Eyes

I dropped my NSR twice within 2 months of first having it Rolling Eyes

One that hurt the most was with my current bike, pulled into petrol station, pulled side stand down, leant the bike over and it must have slipped on some petrol, was going over, never struggled with something so much in my life! Luckily I kept it up from falling, but I was not impressed for 1 second. Felt like i'd been down the gym for a heavy session after that Sad

Dropped them all! they call me butterfingers.

The GPX when it was rideable, was kept on the centre stand in the garden, thinking it was safer having 3 young kids. So pushing it forward off the stand, and for some reason away it went. No more damage than was on it already though.

Dropped the XJ, simply not putting the side stand down and letting go of it! Nice one. Idiot! No damage. It's naked, so no fairing to break.

The funniest one was on the SR. Was on it in the garden, moving it about 10ft. Had a few too many beers. Stopped near the shed, and reached out to lean on the shed and missed! That was funny, because a few people were visiting!! Only my pride got damaged on that one.

I've only dropped one of my bikes - the CBR. Parking on a stupid cambered bit of pavement I thought the sidestand was down properly and apparently it wasn't. No chance of pushing it back up on the weird slope so down we go.

Minimal damage thanks to crash mushrooms and most of the weight landing on top of Dusty. Broke a mirror off and that was it.

She fell over in the back of a lorry once all by herself - no damage. The mushrooms are in just the right place to stop anything bad happening in a 0mph fallover onto a flat surface.

dropped the comet 3 times on the front garden not putting the stand down properly.

then iv drpped it performing a U turn to tightly and then again in my accident the other week.

not too much damage, end of the right footpeg is missing but still ridable, bobble off of the front brake is missing, right bar end has taken a beating, side of the light has a scratch and the can has a few tiny scratches 2.

no worries im replacing all these parts soon anyway

Twice that I can recall.
Once when caught out by the camber of the road when putting foot down.
Once when leaving car park and snatched front brake rather than using the rear. Forks dived and leant the bike over.

Both times bike was layed down rather than fell, so no damage Smile

Tarche2,

I'm feeling like a div here. Don't read this the wrong way but.........

I drop the ball too often if I play in goal. Forget cricket! Down the pub, it'll be me that drops a pint, but then you wouldn't know any of that.

Enlighten me.............What were you thinking of? I'm trying to think of something sexual related to butter as that's what a line like yours usually boils down to, but like cream, butter goes off rapidly on a warm tender body Shocked

I've dropped the ZXR twice, once with no damage second time it had a little crack in side fairing, fewsmall marks on tank and a scuff on ball of lever. (luckily it was about 2 days before my respray so I didnt care.)

Dropped the GSXF once which cracked the engine casing, scuffed the mirror and snapped the ball off the lever.

Wheeling the RX out the garage backwards, got caught of balance and fell away from me, almost had it fall towards me, and fuk me when its past about 40degrees past upright it takes some bloody strenght to get it back up!!!!

Came of it the other day too caning it round a field with my mate on the back in the rain, locked the back wheel in a 'look at me' fashion and went straight down, me, my mate and the bike all slid about 5-6 metres or so, bikes fine just nice and muddy, as it was on a perfectly cut, wet cricket ground Laughing

I laid my ZX-6R down once.

Our drive is on a slope and over the years the stones have come loose in an awkward part of it, which bike and car wheels spin on very easily.

I forgot myself and was pushing it up the drive one day when my footing hit said patch and with the force I was pushing it, it caused my foot to slip on the loose stones and because I was pushing against the bike I slid backwards and couldn't hold the bike up.

Thankfully I managed to lay the bike on its left side gently in the process and there it stayed until I grabbed the front brake and lifted it up.

Not the sort of thing I prepare for at 7:30 in the morning, but there was no damage whatsoever and I never push bikes up to that spot anymore.

Wrote of my nsr125 when a golf pulled out infront of me, i collided with front left wheel arch as he swung across in front of me. I went over the bars and hit his window screen then rolled back of it, quite lucky as the bike had just flipped and landed with a nice thud on his bonnet before tearing itself to pieces. Think i scared the shit out of everyone when i simply got up and brushed broken glass from my jacket, took off my helmet (stupid i know) and looked around looking very very confused. Wrote off the golf as well, hit his wheel arch hard enough to force it into the side of the engine resulting in the wheels jamming Cool couldnt push if off the brighton road (south croydon) so they had to get a crane to pick it up.

I haven't dropped a bike yet, despite my Planet having the killer spring-loaded side stand - I've got the pleasure of wrestling the Bandit upright to look forward to... Sad Praying
