yes.. i know that much.. but in casual conversation, if you say you're "putting nos in your bike" I'd assume you were putting N20 in, and not "some random product from a company called 'NOS'"

And therein you have the genius of their marketing strategy.

Ped boi sees NOS on the shelf, ped boi thinks of the fast and the furious, ped boi buys. "I got NOS in my scoot innit".

Joking aside, I'd like to try some in the car, seeing as it wants 98 RON and the only place I've found that or better is the 99 RON super unleaded that tesco are trialling in about 10 petrol stations. Luckily one of the trial petrol stations is near work.

lots of my mates swear by the optimax and advance high octaine fuels for their bikes and cars but a cant seem to notice any difference and at nearly a quid a litre whats the point.
peds are slow for a reason, so as you pedsters dont kill yourself before you have learnt to ride the things.

As Keith said, an octane booster only raises the knock index and allows you to run more ignition advance. If you are running a fixed ignition curve (just about any car/bike without a knock sensor) you will get no benefit. With knock sensing you will get a small increase in power and a more responsive pickup.

Exactly, i used it waaaay before knock sensors were common place, the good old days when i trist the dizzy a few degrees until it pinked then shove some octane booster up its orinoco and Thumbs Up Mr. Green Thumbs Up sharper response. Biggest difference i found was the weight loss!!!! it cost me all my loose change thereby lightening the whole vehicle.
