Does anyone know what its like ? Me and my brother were thinking of booking our first trackday at brands (as its closest) and they are running the indy circuit in early october (10th) thought it might be easier to learn as it is smaller and never been on a track before??

Also will i have a problem with having a 33bhp lincence ? #

Thanks Thumbs Up

Unless you're wave who 'learnt it in two laps', it's one of the hardest tracks I've ridden as far as learning it goes.

Now whether you'll get to the point of noticing that it's hard to get a decent line on your first track day is another matter. Everybody that did thier first there seemed to enjoy it and want more.

Most of the corners are 'technical' - that is that your line is dictated by the next corner. Also things like having to brake hard while leant over and get the power on a fair bit while your knee is still on the deck, etc.

Personally I'd go for Silverstone or Lydden, however, how much difference it will make is another matter, for your first track day.

It's an awesome track and the best I've done so far, but as G said it's very difficult to get it right.

If you do do it, you'll like Paddock hill (I think that's the name of it) just after the pit straight.

Overall definatley want to go back as soon as finances allow.

there's an onboard video here:

It is technical but I really love the track. (Being local to me helps)

eventhough I'm crap at it and only done it twice.

I didn't find it overally technical or difficult to learn. I suppose it would would become so if I got down to the point of trying to shave every last second from my lap time. I think, as a first timer, it is an ideal track because there isn't too much that can catch you out (unless you go steaming into Paddock Hill bend! Laughing )

Brands Hatch is in big demand due for lots of different events.

Thus they can pump the price up, when you're competing with international level racing to get a day on track.

I wasn't that impressed by the GP circuit - quite fun, but no where near as technical as the indy section. Especially now Dingle Dell is gone Sad.

It's only really Brands that is very expensive for the full circuit. Silverstone, Oulton and Donington are more expensive but not incredibly so. Donington National is arguably better than the GP circuit anyway. Apparently Silverstone National is more fun for bikes (I've only done the GP, but I've my eyes on a couple of dates in November Wink ) I wouldn't mind a go at the full Brands circuit, but that'll be next year now.
