Agreed, it looks like a beautiful bike, but that's what I don't like about it, it's too pretty!

I'd take the Gixxer, more aggressive and I like the side exhaust still, underseat being more pretty then useful.

Yeah, I'm a side exit exhaust fan myself. Bikes all looking too samey with underseat pipes Thumbs Down

The US don't get the R1SP, but the R1 LE in the 50th anniversary colours with Marchesini wheels, Ohlins suspension and steering damper and a slipper clutch:

And it gets Pirelli Diablo Corsa tires.

I think the R1 has got more and more ugly since the end of the 90s the Gixxer in my opinion peaked at the millenium while the Honda and Kwak have turned meaner, leaner and sexier, looking better every time. I think the exhaust on the 2006 R6 looks the nuts!

But life would be boring if we all liked the same bikes eh?

The 'regular' R1 is available in midnight black (or Raven as the US have known it for a year):

Here are a couple more pictures of the SP (they are bigger if you open them in their own browser):

This picture gives you a better idea about the colour scheme of the SP, which features on the Canadian Yamaha site as the R1 L.E.
