Well, as my Ninja owning plans aren't really going well at the moment, I'll be riding this:

I'll be one of the ones wearing a red t-shirt saying "Team" on the back (the one in the XXL t-shirt... Embarassed) so come and say hi!! Very Happy

Is anybody from the south east going to this, interested in meeting up before we get to the Ace? as it gets a little hard to find people there.

I'm all up for going, just not on my own. Wink

I might come along. I know they close the roads, but what's it like? I don't fancy sat gridlocked in bikes/cars all day.

There wasn't any gridlock last year, everything kept moving, sometimes quickly(ish) sometimes slowly but nearly always rolling.

Car drivers sit at lights, blocked by police bikes, with increasing resignation as this never-ending stream of bikes rolls past looking smug.

People stand and stare or wave as you pass. The snake of bikes stops everything in it's path. Lots of revving and beeping when you get into London proper, bemusing everyone who has no idea what's going on.

It's very cool in a 'sheer mass' kinda way. Cool

Ok ladies and gentlemen, for those who wish to meet up in north london or any other area before killspills, please feel free to add your name to the list, stating:

Arrow Place of meet
Arrow What time
Arrow Preferably what bike too.

link is here https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=59363

I'll try to update the list daily so people will know who to meet up and where.

This is also for the benefit for those coming from the midlands and who've never been to the ace before to tag along with a group so that we don't get seperated at the ace.

cheers

Titot

Who still wants to meet up at Fleet services? And out of those people, who actually knows how to get to the Ace from the M3? Laughing

I'm still up for meeting at Fleet at about 9ish, if anybody is OK with that?

I know how to get to the Ace, don't you worry. Wink

9ish?! But that means leaving at 8ish! On a weekend! Surprised

How long does it take from Fleet to the Ace? I'm happy to 'make progress' at a faster rate than last time if it means I don't have to get out of bed so early. Razz

From fleet to the Ace I reckon it should take around an hour. So to get there for 11am I think we should leave before 10am to count for any traffic.

Alright, I've posted in the South East forum to suggest a meeting at Legoland (cos it suits me!).

Would be a decent spot for the Fleet posse and any Reading / Bracknell / Woking types to hook up. Tis just off jn 6 of the M4 if you're wondering.

Update guys:

The BBC will be at the Ace on Saturday before the rally sets off, filming for the news and the Discovery Channel has agreed to film also, before they cover the Brighton Burn Up on Sunday.

Bennetts girls will be wandering around handing out goody bags too.

Jeez, I can't wait!! Very Happy
