Hi,

I'm going back to uni for my 4th year next month, and I was wondering about the insurance implications of keeping the bike on campus.... if you have your home postcode on the insurance (i.e. parents house) but you keep the bike at uni with you during term time, should you tell your insurance company this? will it affect the price? if you didn't tell them and it was stolen from campus, would you be in trouble, or could you maybe say you just had the bike there for the weekend or something?

cheers,
james

Depending on how much they're gonna have to pay out, they could theoretically make a few enquiries as to how often the bike was seen where it was stolen from and thus decide not to pay.

Guess it boils down to how much your bike's worth and how likely it is that it'll be nicked.

thanks Thumbs Up

the frustrating thing is (I've been ringing around alot of places for different quotes) that some seem interested some don't, one company asks for the uni postcode and whether it'll be garaged there, another doesnt seem interested at all Confused

I also got some great news: I should have 3 NCB, but the last 2 years were abroad (not counted) and the one before that was more than 2 years ago so it has 'expired'. 3 years of insurance premiums with nothing to show for it Brick Wall
