Dropped my CBR600rr recently. Was riding with a mate in a van. He pulled out to overtake while I was overtaking, I was hit, helmet came off on the way and I rolled off into a feild.
Was suspected dead for half a day, and bruised my foot on the van heavily. Suspected brain damage for 2 weeks afterwards, and a broken collar bone/shoulder joint and dislocated ring finger(not bad but are being mended now so they seem bad). Hadnt dropped this bike before, but not like it matters now, as it has been written off this morning. Hopefully I will get money from his insurers to cover my fuckin expensive and painfull loss! ____________________ 05 ZX10R, (**05 WKR) |

I've dumped my bike four times at 'speed' on the road, and four times while carrying it/ stationary. All of those were within the first three months of riding, and all that happened was a bit of scuffing of the brake lever and resevoir, scraped mirrors and ground down footpegs a little. ____________________ I must not be a troll...

Dropped the 50 twice. First time I was rolling down a hill on the pavement as I ran out of petrol, went to mount the pavement as I crossed a road, I was sat on one side of the bike ie. both feet on the left side footpeg. It slowed too much, both my feet were on one side and down it went. Second time I was wheeling it backwards, leant the bike to one side, underestimated the weight and I couldn't keep it up.
I hope I never ever drop my RD. I would most likely cry if I did lol. ____________________ Honda MBX50 | Yamaha RD125LC | Suzuki RG125F Lucky Strike | Suzuki GSF600S

Can i suggest you choose practicality and safety over it being slightly less obvious to nick?
I dont get people who run a hgue gauntlet every day with there bike just to avoid people looking at it.
And just because your boss tells you it can be done, doesnt mean it can be. If they insist, just take up a carparking space. Youve as much right as anyone else. ____________________ China traffic/travel bike vid - When I make a sweeping statement, please add the word 'statistically' in to the sentence before you bitch...

Dropped my Ped once.
Haven't yet dropped my Bandit but G was lucky to stop my bike crashing to the ground when the ramp slipped from the Van. ____________________ Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who supply it. When I was doing my CBT I nearly binned the CG125 I was on several times, once waiting at a junction, another time was on a roundabout (nearly highsided it). I nearly dropped the ER5 about 10 minutes before I was supposed to my test on a last minute practice U-Turn, only just managed to save it.
I dropped my Hayabusa the day I got it , repaired the main damage (broken clutch lever and a bent brake lever) then dropped it again the day after Didn't bother to repair it as going by my track record I was going to need a mortgage to keep repairing it.
Chopped it in for the R6 (crash bungs already fitted ) and was doing really well not to drop it, until I did my first trackday a couple of weeks ago at Brands Hatch. Pulled in behind the garages after the sighting laps, realised I missed the garage I'd stolen, tried to do a left U-turn, dropped the revs, bike went over! Started to see £££ signs in my vision, picked the bike up. No damage whatsoever apart for a nick on the bung and a small scuff on the tip of the exhaust can.
So I finished the trackday, trying to put the bike in the van was intersting, nearly ended up with it embedded in the dashboard. Pulled in to Clackett Lane services, realised I hadn't used any tie down straps and the bike was loose . As I pulled in, the bike fell off the sidestand and hit the deck quite hard, picked it back up, once again no damage at all. So I've been quite lucky with the R6 so far (touch wood)
Apologies if it doesn't make sense, but far too much coffee! |

Yep we all drop them at some point.
Pulled up on the drive way put the side stand down.. or thought I did and over she went.
Then you just feel like a right TWAT. Then try picking a ZZR600 up of the ground thats in neutral not an easy thing. ____________________ knock on the devils door and HE will answer............... |

Oookaaay...my turn...
I was riding with my cuz on a gravel road. I had the smallest 50cc street legal Honda you could lay your hands on (this is going back some 17 years probably).
So anyway...we take a break, and I put down the side stand and started walking around....then....I ACTUALLY LEANED AGAINST THE BIKE!!
Just goes to show you how much I knew about bikes (not to mention lack of common sense).
The side stand dug into the gravel and the bike topples over with yours truly on top of it. Luckily the gravel was made of really small pebbles and they were really smooth, so the bike didn't suffer much.
Myself? I got BURNED landing on the exhaust pipe. Was probably wearing shorts or something.
Believe it or not, until recently, that was probably one of the last times I had ridden a two-wheeler.
(Though now I am back to biking and hoping to get my very own soon God-willing. Going to post a request for feedback on 'the first bike' somwhere here). ____________________ Peace...(of mind) |

Dropped my Duc once. Was the same day I'd just fitted new carbon fibre panels and custom paint job.
Got home after a 30 ride (went to show mate) and was putting it on the paddock stand, and managed to fling it the other way into the garage wall and onto the floor (fell on my new Arai RX7XX).
Believe me, the four letter word I screamed at that moment could have woken the dead!
(needless to say the bodywork went back for 'another' paint job and replacement panels were obtained) ____________________ aKa: Ducky |

Dropped it oncee, taking it off the centre stand whilst wedged against a wall. No chance of holding it up as it was falling away from me and isn't the lightest of bikes (CB400SF).
Lessons learned - Don't put a bike on a centre stand against a wall, but more to the point, get on it to get it off if you do.
I'd have been fine if I'd have just rocked it off. |

Not the enfield yet, though been very close but i was nextr to a gate post so it just leant against that. The little GS125 caught me off balance once, cue comedy style slowly tipping over to one side. Also crashed the suzuki while being a total tit. Total cost - £5 for a new indicator lens ____________________ I love the girls that do, I hate the girls that dont, I hate the girls who say they will and then they say they wont, but the girl I like most of all and I think youll say Im right, is the girl who says she never has but looks as though she might. - Max Bygraves |

Dropped the MT50 on the first day when I done a 3 Oclock wheelie (yes, right round the clock )
Damage: Broken number plate screw where the number plate caught the grass.
Never dropped the AR125
Dropped the GPZ500 a few weeks ago, my mind on other things and was doing a tight U turn in the wet, a combination of bike slipping and me losing balance.
Damage: Broken front indicator lens, took one off the AR. ____________________ Northern Irish? www.nibikers.com |
