Hi all, I'm looking for good exploded views of USD front forks.
You see, I want to machine some (hydraulic?) USD fork sets as a hop-up part for 1/5th scale R/C bikes.
I have a slight idea of how to get it done, but that would require me to make new triple clamps too, cause the fork won't fit the stock ones.
Basicly, I want the lower piece of the fork to have a lobe inside the upper piece, that prevents it from dropping out.
This lobe will also have seals for air or oil pressure.
The upper piece will basicly just be a tube, with a smaller diameter at the lowest part to bind on the lobe of the lower leg I was talking about. And in the top of the tube, thread for the last part: The seal/cap/screw. Just something you screw in the hole like your gas tank's cap.
Inside this all there will also be a spring that compresses resting on the lobe and the cap, and the setting up will be for the person that orders the part!
So, thanks in advance, and if any mod thinks this thread should be in technical stuff, feel free to move it. Its a bit of a border case between R/C bikes and something you'd ought to find in a workshop manual...
I tried googling, so please don't think I'm being lazy asking here, but all results where something like
"and then i had to fork out lots of cash (2,400 USD) to get this or that done. The exploded view helped the workshop alot, they said"
This was first posted in general discussion, but copy pasted to here by me by advice of someone. |
