xjr400 red/white/black dream machine paint job, M reg, top end is no faster than than the zeal and probably not as fun but its good enough to get to work on and handles well its very clean for its age but sounds good.

Is that the version with the digital dash?

Was always a big fan of those because they look like muscle bikes for tiny people like me. Laughing

Edit: You say it feels slower than your 250? There is a possibility it's top speed could be restricted in the same way the 400cc import sports bikes are. If it is then you would get an extra 10mph maximum out of it, if that. Check on https://www.400greybike.co.uk/, they should know.

That's a Proper looking bike, nice buy! Thumbs Up
It should have at least 50-53bhp, and so without a top speed restrictor fitted, it should be capable of at least 110-115mph!

If it tops out at 80-85 then hell yeah, it will be restricted. Take it its a carbed bike? (being of the older variety, so I am assuming it is)

Just whip off the carbs and see if there are any restriction washers inside. However, since it is a japanese import, I would suggest it's probably something electronic that is restricting it. Confused

You'd have to google for it.

Go to https://www.400greybike.co.uk/. They will most likely know how to sort it.

The bike should touch 110mph.

posted about your top speed on an asian forum i use,on there xjr's are quite common...

anyway they say that the xjr has no speed restriction and should be hitting 110

so i would assume its got a 33 bhp restrictor kit fitted, which should just be washers in the carbs Wink
