Theres nothing wrong as such with the Malossi stuff just that it puts the engine into a higher state of tune so inevitably reliability suffers. It all seems to be sold as race kit with no warranty

I would suggest you have someone else fit and set up any parts you buy as reading your remarks to others questions I would say you don't have that much experience. Don't take this as an insult take it as someone maybe saving you a lot of money and grief. Even the shop built malossified scooters go bang but they tend to last a little longer than the home built jobs many of which never run right or never run at all.

i don't intend to tune my ped, i just wanted to know if it's good.
i.e. the clutches should be much better than the original stuff shouldn't they?

Well yes and no. They're a bitch to fit and a bit hit and miss over setup. If I had a ped I would derestrict, maybe a lighter road legal pipe and sort the weights. Leave it at that and it should be as reliable as standard.

125's & 180's come DErestricted anyway 50's yeah they need derestricting

50cc you can get 70 kit
125/180 you can get 172 kit & the malossi 172 is better then the std 180 (which is really a 176) just got better ports, timings, etc its just alot better made as its a race cylinder not a std cylinder

i have derestricted it.
when i bought it it had been derestricted and the jet was a 100 and the oil pump was maxed. they had restricted it without replacing the jets and adjusting the oil pump back(that means no power)
now it has nearly no power on low rpm's but at high it gives a "turbo-kick"(yeeehah)
