hi people i have a problem with the sidestand on my bike can anyone give me any advise because i am stuck and my bike keeps falling over. it looks really embarrasing at college when it does fall over

i had this on my bike

when i removed the stand from the bike, i found that the bit of the frame it was mounted on was broken

i had it rewelded for about £50 and the stand bolted back on

my bike was a rs125

or you can just park it leaning against a lamppost or wall which is what i did for ages

Hiya, I used to have a Motorhispania... the RX50.

I had the exact same problem, seems it is a universal problem with the RXs.

You'll probably have to sort it somehow yourself or master the technique and get used to it.

I have the same problem, the bike stands up straight on the RYZ50 model and nearly falls over in the petrol station.

It's poor Spanish craftsmanship overr anything else, I boycott the Motorhispania company from hereon in. I only like mine because it's my baby

Just something you'll have to put up with, or you could possibly bend the sidestand a little bit to get it leaning over further? Is the problem it stands up too straight, or does the stand kick up?

i cant bend it because its attached to the farme and i dnt wana bend it

I had exactly the same problem with my RX50, it caused a crack in the faring and everyone thought that I chucked it down the road.
I just cut the side stand half way down and then welded it so that it was kinked out. Now it stands up fine on flat or on a slope.

[Method]

I had a GSM50,

On the first day of taking it to work it got blown over by a rather large gust of wind.

The sidestand on it was at such an angle, that the bike was pretty much upright. Thus didnt realy lean far enough over to support itself (being a pretty high and light supermotard).

I just took a mallet and a bit of force to it and bent it outwards a little bit, so the bike leant a lot further over.

Voila, fall over Ne' mor.

Trust me it is possible, the person that owned my bike before had bent mine probably for the same reason, so what does my Dad do?

It is possible, someone at college has a supermoto thingy, his sidestand is bent so far back, the bike is actually leaning past the 45degree angle

Finally someone else with the same bike as me!!

It really is poor Spanish manufacturing, although the flaws on mine are sorted and it is now for sale

The bike nearly falls over in the petrol station, one touch and over it goes. But it's a good bike to ride, only done 3700 miles but yeah mine kicks up first time too.
