Had a nightmare day today, and I really need some help cos I'm going mad!
To begin with I ran out of petrol, by the time I realised why my bike was coughing and spluttering it had completely died (c'mon I only got it last weekend and it's my first bike). Tried starting it on the reserve tank, but to no avail. Tried again, and again and again. Still no joy.
Managed to put some petrol in (about 1/3 of a tank) but the f*cker still wont start
It's not something simple like the engine cut off switch or because the side stand's down or cos it's not in neutral. Originally I thought it was flooded so have had the spark plug out over a camping stove to try and dry it out - still no joy.
I'm charging the battery at the moment, but can anyone think why it's not starting?
Beechy
P.S. It's only done 124 miles so you can imagine how pissed off I am. ____________________ Just face it, some days you're the pigeon and others the statue...

All I can suggest is your main fuse near the battery, mine blew once for no aparrent reason, put a new fuse in and it is cool now. Good luck mate, and don't let this little mishap put you off bikes ____________________ A big enough hammer fixes anything!

I am such a twat.
G, you were right. The engine cut off switch was turned off
I only spent 3 hours trying to figure out what was wrong - mind you at least I'll not be doing that again! ____________________ Just face it, some days you're the pigeon and others the statue...

Huoh... One sunny day me and my friend rode to shopping...
Abt 15 meters from shop our bikes just died.. complitely died!
All electronics, stuff all cut off.. i have the bike that u can see as my avatar and the other guy had old Zž (russian motocross bike 500cc from years.. umm 1970 )
Nothing worked... so we stood there abt 15 mins figuring out whats the problem.
One moment when i turned key again... all electornics was on, he hit his kickstart and hes bike was running... so did mine when i pressed ignition!
This has to do smth with these "little green mens" ay?
C`mon... 15-20 mins nothing, quiet like graveyard, not even ey spark! ____________________ -MadOne-

We had fun at the BdB turning ppls kill switches on and stuff. I've killed mine gonna work before, just flicked it trying to adjust the mirrors or something. I also learned something the other day listening to you lot about fuel taps
I don't have an "Off" I do however have a prime!!!! Bollocks. No wonder my carbs are fooked and I kept running out of petrol!
Left=res, down= ON right=Prime
Doh! I though down was Off like on the RF ____________________ Back on a Blade. Just feels so right. |

I had a sticky float on my nsr not to hard to sort out (once I finally got to the fecking thing (and I thought working on minis was a double jointed activity!))
most amusing when someone comes to tell me theres a hugh puddle of petrol under my bike and the guard force aren't too happy as its so close to the building! I tell you the MOD police worry too much ____________________ The BCF's very own Party boy! Though he's getting old and feeling it!

I have hit my kill switch so many times, I am soo dumb, even though I do it loads, it still happens and when it does I am like what the??? and then 'ding' the penny drops and I am like for f's sake. Anyway, I have recently moved from Norfolk to Hampshire, I used to have a crew that I rode with but now, obviously, no one, I was wondering whether there are any Nsr riders out there who want to join me for a cane across the New Forest, email me at [email protected] |
