Well the good news is I picked up a centre stand for a song off ebay. Its at the post office and I'll be dropping in to pick it up tomorrow. Obviously I will be fitting it myself.
Any pointers or things to be weary off when doing it.
Im suspecting a piss easy job, but it never hurts to ask.
Never know might save me some time on screwing around with it for 30 minutes longer than I have to and than well shit if I had of just known that in the first place I could be riding it about now.

Hi

Make sure you have all the springs and mounting bolts.

Sometimes it is easier to hook the springs into place and then bolt the stand on.

All the best

Keith

Not much use now but a good trick to removing and replacing springs is to put the bike on side or centre stand so the relevant spring is extended and then wedge a load of 1 or 2p pieces between the spring coils. put the stand back up and watch the spring drop off, now do not remove those coins Rolling Eyes

When you come to put it back on, as Haynes would say, the refitting is the reversal of the remove procedure Thumbs Up

This would be no use if you have just bought a stand off Ebay, of course Very Happy

Cheers

Got it in one Keith.

Like that idea , will keep it in mind for any time I need to pull it off.
Funny enough I did get it off ebay.
Just used the old screwdriver to stretch it on. Near took my head off a few times.
Its on now and works a bloody treat for doing the chain.

Took quite a few goes to learn to get the bike onto it though once installed.
None of you bastards thought to tell me to take it out of gear before trying to hoist it back on the stand Embarassed

Came close to laying it over a few times. Got the hang of it now though.

Cheers Again
