hello people!

Great site...loads of cool stuff!

This is my first post....I live in finland and i just bought a really cheap KMX125 1990. I was hoping to just use it in the forest and mountains for light ( ish ) off road / enduro style stuff.

Can anyone tell me anything about this bike? e.g is it up to the job? or anything about it really. Razz

I have changed the exhaust for a new one which is minus the restrictor and it seems to be alot quicker! Other than that...the bike is standard as far as i know.

Anyway...any hints tips or general info is greatly appreciated!

Thanks again

G

The KMX will be fine for light off roading and trail riding. Try and do mx, or fairly biggish jumps on it, and the thing will break in half.

It's a 2 smoke so you should have plenty of power on tap. As for riding techniques, the mid and top end of the rev range is where most of the power is going to be. Make sure you warm the bike up before going out, you don't want to be putting a cold engine under load.

I'm not sure about the KMX, but if it has an oil pump, disconnect it and mix the oil in with the petrol (25/1 ratio). That way you know that the engine is getting oil, if the oil pump fails you wont know about it until the engine is seized.

Fun bikes those KMX's are Thumbs Up.

Thanks for the reply!

I believe there is an oil pump....i did actually have a few misgivings about that...i was wondering how i would know if it went tits up.

I wasnt planning any motox just trails and forest tracks and maybe a jump of a foot or two! Smile

Anyway thanks again!

Bike should be fine for what you want Thumbs Up.

I used to know someone that had a KMX200, it was pretty quick, even with me on the back. The bike was a wreck tho. The clutch activating assembly was fooked so it was basically a "rev it and slam it into gear" affair.

Let us know how you get on with it. I'm starting motocross in the new year which should be a laugh Mr. Green.
