 |
|
I had my tax disk pinched the other day so I went to the police asking what to do and they gave me a crime number and said to go to the post office with the number. So I did that and it turns out I have to ride 20 miles to the nearest vehicle lincensing office, and then pay £7 for the privilege of of having it stolen.

Depending on how often and where you use it - just dont get another one. My stepdad lost his tax disk holder somewhere during last summer.... still hasnt got a new one. Nowadays they can check via computer if you are taxed ____________________ Will work for petrol

Not DVLAs fault.
It's called CRIME.
Did DVLA steal it?
Or is it just your area. ____________________ W-ireless A-rtificial L-ifeform L-imited to O-bservation P-eacekeeping and E-fficient R-epair |

No the DVLA didnt steal it, but they're asking me for £7 for a bit of paper essentially, which pisses me off. Nothing wrong with the area I live, although chavs seem to be growing in number by the day in the city centre (nottingham) and my bike is there for about 15 minutes every week. ____________________ Yamaha rxs100 > Kawasaki ZZR600 > Kawasaki ZX6R > Honda Hornet 600 > Honda Bros 400 > Suzuki SV650S K2

They're welcome to steal what I have in my disc holder - complete with the words "Copy - original with owner" in big letters across it...

why would someone nick a tax disk from a bike ,there cheap as chips and have your reg no. on them !
I would have thought getting caught with a stolen tax disk would not be worth the risk , convicted of no tax ,theft and no insurance
And £7 for a replacment is a rip off ____________________ Yeah I know ! |

Some thieving idiot stole the taxdisc of my mums bike a few years back, allways made me laugh when the police said they had caught some guy using it in his car the fact it was a bike tax disc and had a different number plate on it didnt seem to get through to the twit. |

so you're complaining because having had something stolen, you're only having to pay a fraction of it's cost to replace it?
Wish it was the same for cars/bikes
"Mr yamaha, that bike you sold me was stolen, can I have another one for a fraction of it's cost?"
:p

The point is that when you buy a bike you're paying for the bike, when you pay tax you're paying the tax and not for the piece of paper, the tax has been payed and if the paper gets stolen it should be given again for FREE. |
