Just bought a new battery (Yausa) and an Optimate 3 to keep it charged.

Problem is my bike is about 15m from the closes power socket.

Would it be possible to just extend the lead taking the 12v power from the optimate (runs at 0.6A during charge) via 1.5mm 2core cable to the bike itself.

Or would adding this extension detrimentally effect the charging/battery/optimate???

I am guessing it won't make much of a difference, but being an electrical n00b I am asking here first.

N.B. Can't put the optimate next to the bike as it will likely get nicked.

Yes that's fine, any degradation in current or voltage will be neglible.

Extending the wires will be fine.... you would be best soldering them and using like a sleeving/heatshrink wrap to keep the connections protected from damp n such

And extending the cables would only make a negligable difference to voltage/amps and will not affect the performance of the optimate...
