Doesn't sound like a major problem, its sounds like its just the charging thats not working.
If you loose power (electrical) then you'll loose the fuel pump etc... so it will stop. After your breakdown, are you getting any lights when you switch it on (neutral - Oil)?
Check all the fuses, and if you can get it started, check the voltage across the battery when its running and when its not.

What model ZXR is it?
If it,s a H1/H2 it does have an alternator belt. One problem with them is,if the bike is stood for any time, rust can gather on the small "V" notches on the pulleys, the roughness rips the belt.
The reg/rec unit is inside the actual alternator.
The squealing noise could well be the belt adjustment.
any use? |

A little while after pulling over, and even today, the oil, neutral and main lights are working.
Hopefully it is a simple charging problem.
Gonna get it serviced or checked in next few days
Thanks for all advice |

No, go back and say your bike is still fudged after they've "repaired" it.
Dont let them off with a shit job, mate. You dont deserve it as a paying customer, and if they get away with that stuff often, then the garage will try it on with others too.
Take it back and complain [in the nicest possible way, natch ] ____________________ Current Bike: nc30 |
