Ok this is a weird one:

A GSXR600- you a carrying a pillion on the back. You (the rider) gets off. Will the pillions weight cause the bike to tip backwards or will it stay down?

(I know it wouldnt be balanced as their legs wouldnt reach the floor)

I would have said it will stay down. Only because one of my 'party tricks' used to be overtaking slow cars at high speed while sitting on the pillion seat of my bike holding onto the grab rail.

It'll stay put. Big heavy engine up front. And the pillion is sitting directly above the back wheel, not out behind it somewhere.

Hmm i would say it all depends on the weight of the person also, if your 20 stone + i would not try it. Laughing

The bike will stay where it is, but I wouldn't recommend doing this. Mainly because if the pillion shifts about a bit whilst your bike is resting on the side stand, the motion of the pillion high up at the rear could possibly destabilise the bike and make it fall over sideways. Plus aren't the side stands only really designed to take the weight of the bike, rather than the bike+rider/pillion weight all resting on that single piece of metal?

Sit on the pillion seat while you're at the lights. Nail it, and you'll either smile or cry (depending on whether you flip it or not...)
