As mentioned, if my plans come to fruition, I'll just be looking to make it to the end with a lower than 50% change of death due to my heart/lungs exploding from riding a stupid bike Smile.

I can't picture it, got any pics of it's styling?

Think I might be the only guy riding with one pedal!

I hope the styling to some degree follow this:
https://www.evilbendy.co.uk/gallery/albums/userpics/10001/normal_PICT0020.JPG

How far I will go (whether it be just fairings or wheels as well (!) is another matter Confused - not sure how much extra weight I can still reasonably ride with).

Bloody hell G, good effort!

I hope you're not thinking about sneaking some sort of engine under all that fairing Wink

When do we need to send these entry forms off then?

Also what are we picking as the ride start time?

I was thinking one of the slightly later start times?

9:00 maybe? (to give us a bit of flexibility, so that if 9:00 and 9:30 are full, they put us back to 8:30 rather than just getting rid of us.)

used to have a boyhood dream of doing this ride, but then i discoverd that you could have a engine on two wheels, and ive taken that route a few times on my little gp100 and it doesnt look easy for a pedal bike, massive hill at the end before brighton, its not steep, but its uphill and goes on forever

9am sounds good to me, as I'll be driving down to Clapham from Peterborough most likely.

Ok, well I'd really like to give this a crack but my means of getting there are a bit jaded at the mo.

My dad won't let me attach my bike to my bike to get it there and none of the people I ride with up here are up for it so I can't get a lift with anyone. I can't find a train company that will let me book super saver tickets this far in advance (cos I'm mega broke) and I highly doubt any bus service would let me take my bike with me.

This is all assuming that the kind offer from G extends to a roof over my head for a night or 2. So I'm a bit stuck really. Being unemployed at the moment isn't helping because I don't know what I'll be doing then anyway.

I'm tempted to just enter under team BCF anyway and see what happens though.

You could probably borrow my dad's bike if your itnerested. It will take a little bit of abuse but not too much. Solid frame/suspension and upright/touring riding position.

@KLR600:- Can you not get a megabus ticket closer to the time? Take your bike apart and then put it in a suitcase, they take them on the coaches.

@Sticky:- I'm afraid it wont look as good as that. Crying or Very sad Laughing

Nearest megabus station to me is Liverpool which is 70 miles away and the Coach fares are double the train prices.

Sometimes I wish I could drive Sad.

Maybe if I started cycling now I'd make it in time for the ride.....

Just sorted my form: 9am start, BCF Racing, Club Challenge. Think I will go for the Brighton > Clapham Common bus in the afternoon as it's the only one that goes every half an hour (the others only go twice from what I can see) and I assume that's where it all starts anyway.

A day to go, to get your name down!
(Ok, you can do it after as well, I'm sure)

I believe we should have a van which should be able to take loads of push bikes and at least one car - this will give us the option to transport 6 people along with any bikes, back to London or Reading.
Another car driver and that should mean another 4 riders could be transported.

No probs for a roof for a night or two KLR.

Wave I might be able to lend you my dads bike. It's not the lightest thing in the world but it all works and has a reasonable number of gears etc. If you're interested I'll ask him.

G, you think we might be able to find a way back to London without using their bus service then? If so that would be ace. If it is doable then like you say we need to confirm it ASAP since if we use their bus we need to put that down on the entry form. Thinking

Team Leader: Dave Giffould
Team Name: BCF Racing
Team Type: Club Challenge Team
Start Time: 09:00 hrs

Sent my form off today. Also got another support van and a mate who's offered to help out driving back from Brighton, so room for a few more people + bikes.

Fantastic Korn. Thumbs Up I won't bother with the bus thing, and will send out my form later today.

Wave, I just spoke to my dad and he says he's alright with it and that it's all ok etc. I'll take it for a spin tonight and make sure all the gears and brakes are good but it shouldn't be a problem. Hopefully Sparks will be ok with that going in the boot for the drive to/from London.
