A mate of mine is returning to bikes after a few years off he is short but doesnt want an SV or any other sports bikes likes hondas and especially the hornet (but its abit big for him Laughing ) probably looking at 500cc +

any ideas?

The cx is a great bike to get back into it.. i'm 5"8 and it could still be a little taller and it would be ok...

They are cheap and will sell for what was original pay, fairly forgiveing and enough power to keep you smileing and low enough to keep you out of a ditch.

(if you want a sexy bike then look elsewhere)

get "your friend" on a cx cheap as chips,low maintanence,a bit heavy and a bit slow so a great bike to relearn the fun.

Bandit, and you can easily cut some out of the seat. You have met Charlotte and she has no problems touching the ground on my Bandit.

The Cagiva Rappy is just a restyled SV... (or is it the other way around? - if it wasn't for the lack of dealers in my area I would have gone for the raptor instead of my SV Thumbs Up)

How about a GPZ500s? Low seat height, plenty of power and very comfy. I would say an ideal bike to get back into biking on.

How many times is someone gonna say the BROS650 is basically the same bike as an NTV. They are not. They may have engines which are related but they are not basically the same bike.

The Bros is suitable for a small person the NTV isn't.

Not sure I agree, they use the same engine but the Cagiva is based around a trellis frame, reasonable forks and brembo brakes etc. I suggested it mainly because it has a very low seat height, a lot lower than the SV. The SV engine is a really good one though, pulls well through the range and makes good power without any vices.

The unfaired SV doesn't look so much like a sports bike as a retro style, and the riding position is not extreme.
They are very easy to ride although a little tall.
