i have just taken the carb out and cleaned it and put the slide pin 2nd notch from the end, now i have put it back together and cant remember if it made a tap noise when you close the throttle and when u open it al the way? also it is smoking a lot more now what might i have done ??? |

oops would that make it smoke more makin it leaner? what notch do u think it should be on and whats the proper setting for the big screw on the side of the carb? thnx  |

if the bikes de restricted( exhaust,airbox), it should be set on 2nd notch from top.
The big screw is the idle(if i remember right), adjust this when the bike is warm, should be 1400. Maybe higher in cold weather(1800)
Small screw to the left of that is screw in as far as can go(not tight) then 2 and half times out

aha i think i know how the slide pin works now as it is tapered it blocks the big jet when you are not turning the throttle and the more you open the throtttle the smaller taper iis exposed allowin more fuel through, and adjusting the set height of the needle allows more or less fuel depending which way you move the clip, so moving the clip towards the point wiill raise it an let more fuel, am i sort of right?  |
