I dont know much about dirt bikes but would recommend that you search for reviews and not base it all on looks.

The DTR. The KMX is a wet fart version of the KDX and fails to do anything that the KDX used to manage to do very well.

definately the DTR, the fork gaiters on the KMX make it look really dated, 80's/early 90's style.

Looks like the DTR is getting the majority of the votes, but I'd still suggest checking out some reviews...
maybe the bike search/reviews on https://www.motorcyclenews.com/nav?page=motorcyclenews.bikes ??

ive ridden both bikes. The DT is a nicer bike. slighty nicer looking, and the engine/brakes, etc.. are all much nicer and smoother

if you can afford it, go with the DT

The yamaha looks better to me but there's not much difference between the two although the yam looks like it has a bigger expansion chamber.

They are very similar bikes.

So, unless you're very rich, I'd go for the best 'deal' you can - ie find the cheapest one in the best condition of either model.

On looks alone, the DTR; but there's not much in it. Had to flick between the two pictures several times to notice any real difference.
