What you need to do now is get a years subscription from both the BMF and MAG, you will feel a lot better in yourself and it beats saying 10 Hail Marys and 1 Our Father, join now.

They have been doing so for about 30 years. I am genuinely surprised that you had not heard of them as they are regularly mentioned in bike magazines as well as on here, as well as holding what is probably the largest bike related UK show every year.

no, I joined up to find out more info on Honda VFRs because I had just bought one.

I sold the bike a few months later but enjoyed the discussions on the forum so continued to post.

And FYI, I do ride a bike, regularly, just not on the road.

A biker not hearing of the BMF is about as dumb as a girl not knowing what a gynaecologist is! Laughing

I'm kinda confused with this BMF stuff. I just got my 'Rider' magazine and it tells me Leon Mannings, who seemed like a good guy, has been ousted by Mike Williamson. Then Williamson gets booted too...

This is making the BMF look stupid.

I guess it increases their profile at least!

I think it's quite unfair that I got dragged into this, and had a go at, when I haven't even posted here ....

Toby R, I'm not trying to get into an argument with you, but I once posted something you disagreed with, that doesn't mean I post shite. You spent quite a while giving me a hard time, and going through all of my posts and down rating them, even ones that were saying the same thing as other members in the same thread. You got some of it back, and didn't like it, sorry but you can't do that and complain when you get similar treatment in return. I've forgotten about it and I actually think you're okay.

It's not for you to ask people to justify thier reasons for joining the forum to. I joined because I desperately want to take my bike test, and at the time needed some advice and information on it. Just because I don't reply to the related posts, does not mean I don't read them.

The magazine coming out with what seems a contradictory story is merely a case of unfortunate timing.

The magazine is published by an outside company and the deadline date for articles is approximately one month before publication (far too early, IMHO).

Unfortunately, the disciplinary hearing against Mike Williamson had not been held by the deadline date, which meant it could not be published in Rider.

Even had the deadline date been two weeks later, it would have been too late in this instance.

Don't really know what else they could have done about that really.
