The thing is I couldn't get it to work this morning. Engine turned over, but that was it. I tried for around half an hour, expecting to flood the engine although there was no petrol coming out of the overflow.

Obviously it has been cold and this really does effect the performance of the bike, but I just wanted to know if you had any opinions on any underlying problems and any easy maintenance I could do.

Cheers in advance

It's probably a battery problem. Keeping it topped up with an optimate charger might make its life easier in this cold weather. Giving it plenty of time to regain its voltage between starting attempts might help too.

I thought carb icing only occurred when you are moving, not after the bike had been standing overnight?
