Hey, you will need a new top yoke with straight bar clamps on such as the one in the picture I have attached, they are fairly expensive, Dan

No you don't. You need a set of these to clamp to the top of the fork stanchions (you need 25mm of fork leg sticking up above the top yoke, which is how the clip ons fit to a VFR750 anyway if memory serves.) :

£35 from Busters. https://www.busters-accessories.co.uk/proddetail.asp?prod=RAA

Here are some fitted to my GPZ500s:

Yes they will work if you have enough fork leg, but if the front has been lowered you may have trouble with the top of the fork leg, adjusters etc fouling on the bars. If the clipons are under the top plate you may have to get a replacement top plate and they cost about £120 and most are made in Germany.

This is what I thought, which is why I suggested a new top yoke as the top of the forks would get in the way of the bars being put on with the clamps, Dan

(Okay, they do need a couple of holes drilling in your yoke, so I'd go with Stinkwheel's solution if you can.)

(Both are on the same page on the busters site, incidentally.)

Great if you've got a billet (Solid) Yoke, and a system to accurately drill the holes so the bars align properly, have heard some very bad things about misuse of credit card details at Busters' that's one company I will not use.

I've seen it done on standard yokes with only moderately accurate drilling and good results.

Think Busters has sorted it's problems. I've made many orders from them and never had a problem.

There's not enought thickness of metal on a standard cast, webbed top yoke. Unless its made of steel, most are aluminium, and drilling holes will make them weak and liable to failure, you might trust your life to them, I would not, have dealt with accidents on more than one occasion where the bars have simply pulled out of a crumbling top yoke.
