It would then be visordown.com in every way Sad Razz

But T-Shirts, and having a URL on bikes/ kit/ stuff will get more visitors/ members coming anyway.

Yes, but not nearly as many as a double page spread in MCN.

Word of mouth / tshirt / sticker and search engine is better. Grow slowly.

Yeah, I'm not keen on the idea of sticking the URL in an ad.
What about bcf.me.uk?

Plus putting it in a magazine would actually kill the server as well Confused

Erm i doubt putting it a magazine would cause the traffic to increase that much that it would kill korns new server. I think magazine advertising is something to steer clear of though. The t-shirts and number plates are a good idea and i cant remember who said have shirts etc.. without the url but whats the point of having bcf shirts in the first place?

bikechatforums.com doesnt scream nerd anymore than visordown.com or something of the like, plus a lot of ppl on here are nerds anyway Laughing so why be ashamed of the url, why not wear it with pride? Very Happy

When I went to Boxhill, and had to guess who you guys were I felt a bit "geeky" going up to Phoenix and saying "Hey, are you from bike chat forums?." I was crapping it he would say no and just laugh at me.
I might have felt less stupid if I was saying something that didn't necessarily mean it was a internet thing like visor down.

Anyway I am a geek and proud of it! Razz

Some AFFORDABLE (£10-15) stickers for number plates/helmets and some business card kind of things, so we can download them of the net, print them and hand out.... Smile

Just curious? should I get an old bed linen thingy for blanckets, paint the web address on it for the TT and throw it on a corner of the TT course during TT fortnight? Very Happy

also, if that brings in lots of bikers to the board, can the board handle a few thousand views/posts a day? Confused

IMHO: if you are going to do 'advertising' it would be better the various fre lists of clubs etc some bike mags have.
However we do have a pretty good comunity here and I don't know if we'd want it to get massivly bigger (as others have said).

At least if we're drawing people in from rallies or with stickers on our bikes etc. we're not really getting nobhead flaming boy-racers cuz they wont be looking at the bikes anyways
