CODECS FOR WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER 9

How do i download these? It asks me for them when i try to play some videos in wmp, they worked fine before but 've just had my pc re-formatted so i guess something's reset itself

Any help appreciated, cheers

There are codec packs, which should give you most that you'll need.

That's one specifically for XP, which will play most formats. If you need to find a specific one, download this:

It will tell you what codecs you're missing if a specific file won't play. Then you can just search '[format] codec' on Google and download the codec you need.

it will give you every codec you will need (even 3gp mobile) and it will play them all in windows media player classic, which every body knows is much better than the new media player .

What a coincidence. This has really helped me out, I can now spend the rest of the afternoon watching the first episode of Lost 2.

download the free player, and choose to install the codecs only and not the player.

this is great. everytime you go to put on a dvd divx will pick it up . a icon will pop up on ur taskbar and the movie plays well 99% of the time
