We have them over here in P'Boro.

They are doing roadworks on the main bridge into the town center, so they have put in bus lanes so people can use busses to ease congestion.

They are also allowing cyclists and motorcyclists to use the bus lanes. Its absolutely brilliant on chokka-block mornings, and even when the roads arent that busy, its just nice to pop over into them and cruise for a little bit without the hassle of other traffic Thumbs Up

AFAIK we can use the bus lanes here in N.Ireland. there was something about a trial scheem for bikes to use the buslanes, but i dont know exactly what period this was to run from/till.

not enough bus lanes here anyway to make a difference.

well i dont see me useing them, the only one round herethat could saveme time is at stairfoot, theres one that goes righ tthru the middle of the roundabout from doncaster to barnsley, but its traffic lick controld for tagges busses only, so id be there a while.

also Bus lanes allways bring you round intoa specific direction to the bus route...im my eyes youd have to use significant extra forward palanning and already know the road ahed.

When is a bicycle not a bicycle

I've spent a lot of time riding in the Aberdeen area, Aberdeen area has "Bus" lanes, they are posted for the use of Buses, Taxi and Bicyles, if you read the taxation class "Tax disk" of all motorcycles, we are all classed as a "Bicycle" and this is a government issued document. I've used these "Bus" lanes and I've been pulled, and still I've never been done, I'm using the "Bus" lane as a bicycle.
