Hi all I changed my spark plug's over to the BR9EIX and all was fine until the weather changed and my is it cold well anyway's I am having a tick over problem when I start my bike in the morning's it start's up fine, use the choke and warm up and knock it off as I am going down the road, when I get to work and stop the bike the rev's just die out on me also when comming home too esp at the light's or a junction I have to keep the rev's going as you can here the rev's dying out.and if you give it some throttle it just dies.which doesnt make sense as the throttle is suppose to pump the fuel through more to give the rev's.could it be the weather is to cold for the plug's I have put the BR9ECS back in and it seems to run fine after altering the the idle speed screw for the plug but will find out tomorrow better after a run.ANY IDEA'S

Try to set the minimum throthle opening on the right side of the bike. You must get the cover off, and there you will see a hole. If you look through it there is a screw.... Adjust it, but slowly, and add a bit of gas beetween the adjusting Wink

set your pilot screw (the most in front) at 2 1/2 turns out . start on choke and let it until you feel the engine stuffing . put a bit of acceleration (2000-2500 revs) with your handle and take the choke off . let it warming like that for 2-3 mn then release handle . the idle must be at 1500 rpm , if not use the idle screw (thightening will increase rpm , undoing will decrease) to set 15000 , after 10 mn running idle will be 1400 rpm . in cold time , after you've stopped the engine , put your choke on and then your next start will be easier . i assume you have a slow jet of 38 and fitting a 42 will make your starts perfect and do not forget to have 1mm play on the throttle cable .

I will check the throttle free play and see..the screw your on about alain I did last night screwed the oil in all the way then 2.5 turn's out and then I set my idle speed..well tonight after coming home I thought I wasn't gonna make it the throttle response was rubbish..I was bunny hopping everywhere rev's were dropping then going through the roof then as soon as I put her down in gear from 3,2,then one you could hear the engine stalling.I put the choke on a little and it made a little bit of diff but all the same I was seeing the revs rocket then drop maybe the throttle cable needs oiling???or carb's blocked?? a bit freighting to say the least but I cannot understand it the bike was fine up until a week or 2 ago.also you could hear the sound of the engine spluttering and dieing out then all of a sudden the rev's would kick in the blaa blaa blaaaaaa then zoom (rev's)

probably also the foam from your air filter needs to be cleaned . i suggest to take off tank , air filter then the carb . for the carb :
- take off all pipes coming in and hang the oil pipe up with a bit of wire (avoiding oil leak)
- undo the screw on top of choke and take it out
- undo the 2 screws on top of the throttle and take it out
- untight the collar on the intake rubber pipe and now the carb is your's
- open the float chamber by unscrewing the central screw (mind the fuel valve which is quit tiny)
- now clean the strainer and blow every jet with air pressure (if you have not buy an air spray in computer center)
for the tank : clean the tap & filter
for the foam :
- put the foam in a bucket with hot water and a drop of washing up liquid . wash it , rince it and dry it
- slightly oil (you can use 2 strokes or 10-30w oil) the foam and squeeze out the excess
refit everything . control the throttle play , the pilot screw (2 1/2 turns out) and when your engine is warm (about 8-10mn) set the idle screw at 1400 rpm +- 100
obviously a clean or a new plug will be good
