Attitudes towards younger bikers on BCF

I have the "what is the hottest 50cc around" thread in my head when I post this..

Why do people have such a negative view of people with 50cc's and such? It's impossible to have a thread on this forum about 50cc's without some prick posting a picture of a lawnmower or something else equally as hilarious, such as a bike with flames around it, "that's pretty hot". "huuuur".

"huuuuur huuur i'm so funny - i'd ravver have a lawnmower than a 50cc huuuur huuur get a life you 50cc scum huuuuur".

It's also impossible to discuss 50cc's without some utter comic genious posting a pic of his fat arse on a 600cc.

"huuuuuur who needs 50cc, I'm such a man, you low life scum"

The "hottest 50cc" thread has been ballsed up by the pond life-esque posts similar to the ones I've described. If people want to talk about what 50cc bike they think looks best, then let them.

You're probably bigger than them, but not cleverer by any stretch of the imagination.

Its a balance between being entertaining and being unpleasant just for the sake of it.

A lot of people find the rudeness on bcf amusing, but most of the time I dont. Sometimes I do though.

I find it particularly unpleasant if someone is an easy target or an underdog in some way.

i think it does put off a few new ppl who you dont see again. Sometimes they realise that the individual who was unpleasant to them is a cunt to everyone by habit as a substitute for having a personality or having anything interesting to say.

Sometimes criticism is valid even if a bit annoying tho.

For example cleverer may be in the american dictionary but you wont find it in an english dictionary and we are english so we shouldnt start abusing the language like americans.

The idea of a 'ped boi' is a generalisation, but a generalisation is always has a basis of fact; they're rarely just made up. People just tar every 50cc rider with the same brush.

The topic 'the hottest 50 around' is a topic which doesn't really help this view. I posted a picture of a C50, which as an iconic and incredibly popular 50cc from 'back in the day', I think is indeed the hottest 50 around, though probably not like they meant it.

generally id agree with you carvell, but some people spend way too much time on the forum so they need to keep themselves entertained. I think it gets a bit out of hand but not a lot can be done about it really without changing the way the forum is run.

I hvnt actually looked at the thread u are talking about so I'll have a look now.

Ive just had a look and i dont think there was anything at all offensive on there. I have seen far worse on here. I had just assumed that the thread you were speaking about had the kind of nasty rudeness in it that i dont like, but it didnt. One bloke posted a pic of a lawnmower, but no derrogatory comments or personal insults at all.

Carvell Im sure you can find worse examples of bad behaviour if you looked. Shauns recent posts wd probably a good place to start. Although recently he said i was a genius so maybe hes gonna be nice for a bit. Keep it up shaun (cue shaun returning to form).

everyone is 16 once, even a 50cc can feel fast when you have never ridden one before, at the end of the day its better than getting the bus and getting mugged.
I admit when i had a scooter i put a race exhaust on it and put a few tuning parts on it.
tbh not alot has really changed
i now ride a GSXR750 with a race exhaust and a few other bits and bobs.
Been there done that, still glad i got it, your first peice of indipendance.

now, what annoys me more is the, my RS125 beats r1s and its tuned to the max.
