Well, this here will be my first post on these fine forums, so i'll try to represent myself in the best way possible.

I'm 17... 18 in May, living in Blackpool (Cesspool, Chavpool, whichever you prefer), and am about to purchase my first bike.

After looking around at the various 125cc bikes available, I figured i'd prefer the RS125. After coming to this decision I scouted around at how much one would set me back on BikeTrader and saw '02 & '03 models going for around the £2k mark... then I noticed that I can get a brand new '06 plate for £3k with 0 miles, and figured that buying new would be worthwhile, seeing as how they don't seem to depriciate very much.

This month I will be heading to Wigan to buy the thing, and my only decision now is which colour do I want to go for?

Either Red

Ahhhh... I have been mistaken.

I assume that there is a 2005 model.

And I also assume that because it was listed as "2006 APRILIA RS 125 125cc"... it would be the 2006 model, when really what I will be getting is an unused 2005 model on an 06 plate.

Very sneaky.

False advertising even.

Will have to bring it up when I go to the showroom.

indeed, that is the curvy 2005 model. Still a very nice looking bike, and cheap if brand new at 3k. If you run it in nicely, you might even get 10,000 km out of it before it needs a rebuilc Thumbs Up

I really do like the first one, and would get one myself if I wasn't after something easier/cheaper to upkeep. Laughing

Welcome to the forum, the black one would be my choice, if you wait until about march time you could get the proper 06 model rs. (the one that looks like a mini rsv)

Even though i have my zxr400, i am tempted to buy another rs125 as a weekend toy, and keep the zxr.
i kinda miss the 2-stroke Crying or Very sad

Thats the one and aprilia have confirmed that this will probably be the last 2 stroke RS, Cagiva have also said the same, so if you want a 2 stroke one get one now otherwise they will be difficult to get.

I like the more angular look of it... but i'm not too sure what's going on with all the crap hanging off the back of it.

Defo go for a RS125 theyre good bikes! a lot of peeps say they r unreliable and have many probs with them. But its all down to the way you look after it, as long as the bike is warmed up to at least 55 degrees before you ride it, it wil last a good part of 14,000 km or so before a rebuild.

I owned one for over a year bought it with 900km on the clock, served me wel till 13,000 km or so until i sold it Sad
