PHP help, again

For some reason my http headers dont work sometimes, im only using this code:

header("location: bulletin.php?topic=$topic") or exit('oh dear, I cannot redirect to the topic');


Surely there cannot be a reason why it wouldnt work.

At this point, a session is started (session variables), error_reporting is turned off.

From the PHP manual:

So that's the first thing to fix - just put the full prefix in before bulletin.php. Eg https://www.mydomain.com/bulletin.php?topic=$topic

If you don't have any luck then set it to print the value of $topic when it exits as that will let you debug the value there, which is the only other reason I can see for it failing.
