A feller wrote in and suggested that bikers fill in their relegion as 'Motorcyclist' on their census form. If enough people do this ( no figures were given ) then the government has to acknowledge it as a relegion. This would mean biker groups would have a lot more clout...

'My relegion doesn't accept the idealogy of speed camera's' etc...

I think there are more atheists / agnostics on here than people who take a faith seriously, so why not.

Thumbs Up

'My relegion doesn't recognise the 33bhp restriction.'

Hey man, the Sikhs don't have to wear crash helmets due to their beliefs, something to think about???

"In the last census, where we asked for a religion, lots of people who obviously don't have a religion put their football team. But it doesn't matter whether you put Jedi, Manchester United, Chelsea, or whatever. It's completely erroneous, it's going to have no impact whatsoever."

That's because only the hundred or so religions listed by name on the census form as options will be tallied individually. Anything written in the "other" box will be recorded simply as ... "other."

Well darn it. I put Jedi last time. I knew they weren't going to do anything about it, but at least I thought someone would count the number of people that put Jedi, and we could go 'ooh, 10,000 people put Jedi'.

What's the point of the box to fill in on the form after 'Other' then????!!!!

Is that right??

I've never seen anyone on public highway without a lid. Suppose I might not have seen a Sikh biker but I certainly thought they weren't exempt from helmet law.

Certainly a great idea, maybe we could get rid of discrimination on roads then. It would also stop biased reports on crashes as you couldnt say, "Would you say the bike was speeding" because it would be racism.
Ill certainly been doing it! Thumbs Up

Yeh

Seen a Sikh wearing turban on a GSXR 600 with no lid and another one on a C90.

"Unless you are an accredited member of the Sikh religion, the law requires you to wear a helmet at all times when riding your bike. "

I dont think this should be allowed, if i had a choice i would wear a helmet because it is common sense, if sikhs want to obey their religion they should not ride bikes.

EDIT: thought of something extra, if i was driving a car (when i am 17) and i accidentely knocked over a motorcycle for any reason and that person was wearing a helmet and survived with minor scratches a lot wouldnt happen (maybe licence removed at most)

If it was a sikh that was helmet less on the bike and they died i would be up for manslaughter and face a jail sentance.

I know i shouldnt of crashed in the first place but these things can happen by accident.

The Sikh coppers wear dark blue turbans with the badge on the front and checks going around the circumfrance.

Their relegion says they have to carry a knife, too, but ( I hope ) the majority of them carry plastic ones.

Back on topic - if the census recieved enough forms back stating "Motorcyclist" they would create a sepreate group for them to be put in. This is different from it being classed as a religion... it just a method of organizing information.

Same with the Jedi rumour that flew around a few years back.

Hi
They were fucking shite on wednesday, I think morientes and cisse should go, pull that money together to get a striker that actaully scores goal (al la Owen)

I bet Raffa's pissed about letting him go to Newcastle (I know hes injured but was from a tackle so probably woudlnt have got it playing for us).

At this rate we're gunna lose 3rd, although the best team we have to play for the rest of the season is bloton so we shouldnt drop many points, I say shouldnt I dare say we will Sad.

I put 'Biker' on the last census as my relegion.

Both my sons have 'biker' down as their religion on their school database.

I actually made this suggestion before the last census, when the suggestion of 'Jedi' arose. Putting 'Biker' is a) more accurate, and b) may have some beneficial effect if enough people do it.

Cheers,

Byrnie.
