Hiya, I've been looking at this card and it seems quite good I currently have an Ati Radeon X600 card and it performs well at 1024*768 on Counterstrike at about 50FPS but the other day I had a go on a PC with the 6600GT and it was amazing and I just wondered if it is worth the upgrade? Opinions on a postcard please.

In a word, yes.

I sold you that X600 didn't I? That was a good step up from that X300 that you had, but if your playing a lot of games and you want them looking good, then a 6600GT cant be faulted for the money.

Thumbs Up

Yeah cheers,it was you who sold me the card and yes it does the job well, but now money is about i'd like to upgrade again.

Also from what I have seen Nvidia cards seem to have more performance at lesser value than ATi. Smile

In my opinion, nVidia cards shit all over ATi.

I bought my 7800GTX for about £400 when they were new, and nothing ATi have done can come close. I love being able to buy any game and just whack everything up to 100% detail, 4x AA, AF etc and know that it'll still run sweet as a nut. Without doubt nVidia are dominating the GFX card market at the moment, and I think they will for a long while to come.

It's so annoying, my general setup is good by anybodies standards

P4 3.0Ghz with HT
1GB DDR2 (hoping to up this to 2GB)
Philips 5.1 Sound Card, cost quite a bit, sound is beautiful.

Now all I need is a Gfx card to match. Razz

I've got a 6600GT. Not the fastest card around, but excellent value for money and I can't fault it! Thumbs Up
