Try checking all your connections. Take them all apart, spray some WD in there and try that. May just be a loose connection somewhere, or a bit of water has got in.

Thumbs Up

Check the connections from the battery terminals, and wiggle the wires around the coils, HT leads etc until the problem occurs then bingo.

When it cuts out, does it fire up again straight away?

Definitely sounds like a dodgy connection somewhere. Was thinking it may be a charging problem and it was draining the battery, but if it starts OK it probably isn't.

Best to just go through and check all your connections, make sure there's nothing loose and give them a clean up.

Thumbs Up

A multimeter or continuity tester would make your job far more simple. Don't try measuring anything in the HT portion while it is running however. Shocked

likely sites of failure are at the battery or the fusebox for this kind of failure, start by checking all the connections here.

Could it maybe be anything to do with when you replaced the CDI? Maybe you left a connection loose ?

Just a thought though. Karma
