Laptop again.

I posted last week about what i should replace my laptop with after its death. My insurance company got back to me today and have given a replacement figure of just over £1000, i think this is way to low. Its a new for old policy so I should be getting an equivilent laptop by todays standards.

My 2 year old system was a Seimens (brand name) desktop replcement.
3.06ghz p4, 512mb ddr ram, 60gb hdd, dvd r+w, 15inch xvga monitor, indipenant graphics ...

I dont realy know a lot about curnet laptop prices but I feel to get an equivilant computer will cost a lot more than £1000. Anyone know enough about curent computers to sugest an example of a comparable curent system which i can use to argue my case for a higher valuation.
Any advice would be much apritiated.
